DESCRIPTION OF WORKS

Wattamolla is one of the most popular locations in the Royal National Park, and with over 3500 visitors per day during peak hours, NSW National Parks and Wildlife Services engaged with Ford Civil to improve the visitor experience and to construct and upgrade a new loop carpark and picnic area. The project consisted of a reconfiguration of the lower loop carpark to create additional open shaded picnic spaces and to also provide safer bus drop-off zones and accessible parking.

Ford Civil also completed the construction of a new viewing platform equipped with safety balustrading, and also new pathways and landscaping works to help improve the visual appearance of the site. Ford Civil was also engaged with constructing and developing a new drainage system to help with environmental protection of Wattamolla Lagoon. These works will ultimately provide a safer, improved and more accessible visitor experience, whilst also protecting and improving the natural and cultural value of the site.
