DESCRIPTION OF WORKS
Ford Civil was engaged by Health Infrastructure for the delivery of Sydney Children’s Hospital Stage 1 Children’s Comprehensive Cancer Centre (SCH1/CCCC) Early Works Project. The project was part of the Randwick Campus Redevelopment was set to become the most comprehensive and largest collocated health precinct in Australia. The early works project comprised of remediation, offsite disposal, removal of redundant services, demolition of Hospital Road, coordination of Aboriginal Heritage and Geotechnical Investigations. Ford Civil implemented waste classification innovation which provided cost saving of $550,000.
KEY FEATURES
• Stakeholder consultation and management – PwC, Health NSW, Sydney Children’s Hospital, Prince of Wales Hospital, Integrated Acute Services Building Construction Project (Lendlease), UNSW, Randwick City Council and Transport for NSW.
• Liaison with TfNSW and Randwick City Council to minimise impacts to traffic in Botany Street and High Street
• Reassessment of 15,000T of waste to alternative Resource Recovery Order classification to divert materials from landfill for use as engineered fill.
• Detailed excavation, segregation and offsite disposal of material.
• Removal of existing redundant services within remediation area.
• Demolition of Hospital Road, including TCS design works.
