DESCRIPTION OF WORKS

Sydney Airport contracted Ford Civil to develop an existing airside site, to provide for formalised storage of unladen Unit Loading Devices (ULD’s). For better utilisation of the limited land available at the site, the new facility required the relocation of an existing jet blast deflection fence and the reconstruction of the existing Aircraft Waste Dump (AWD) Facility and subsequent demolition of the old facility to provide larger and more coherent lease sites for unladen dolly train staging.
KEY FEATURES

• Construction of a new Aircraft Waste Dump (AWD) building
• Installation of sewage pump pit, macerator systems, electrical, CCTV and integration with the airport monitoring system for the new AWD.
• Construction of concrete footings for an integrated roller/ball deck storage system
• Demolition of existing aircraft waste dump facility
• Earthworks
• New asphalt pavement
• Install new electrical and communications pit and duct system
• Install LED flood lighting
• Dismantle and relocate existing jet blast fence onto new reinforced concrete footings.
