DESCRIPTION OF WORKS

Ford Civil have been engaged by Sydney Airport for the Jet Base Services Relocation and Decommissioning Project. These works form part of the Sydney Gateway Project Enabling Works (for TfNSW) and involve the relocation of core airport services infrastructure to facilitate the widening of Qantas Drive.

Our scope of works involves detailed planning and project staging to seamlessly relocate critical airport services infrastructure whilst ensuring minimal impact on ongoing operations. The team have been able to take advantage of the recent downturn in activity at the airport operation to look to accelerate works in work towards a smooth handover at the completion of the project.

KEY FEATURES

• Apron slab and perimeter roadway construction
• Installation of new of utilities including: Communications; Electrical Cables (low and high voltage); Gas & Sewer; Water mains (above and below ground); Chilled and hot water supplies
• Associated cutovers of new services onto new Sydney Airport network
• Decommissioning of old services following cutovers
• Construction of new pump house and adjacent comms structure.
• Construction of new substations
• Improvement to the Airport Monitoring System (AMS)
• Upgrading of the Airport Storm Warning System
