Ford Civil were engaged by Bayside Council to perform the Sandringham Bay Seawall and Cycleway Restoration project. The project was a comprehensive effort focused on strengthening coastal resilience for the Sandringham Bay beach area. Central to the works on this project, Ford Civil constructed a 345 metre long, and 5-metre-wide rip rap rock apron. This work served as a reinforcement to the existing seawall and acted as a crucial defence mechanism from the on-going beach erosion. Managing tidal water levels was a critical aspect of this coastal reconstruction project, where Ford Civil implemented precise scheduling and coordination of construction activity to optimise work during low tide periods.
In addition to fortifying the seawall, the project introduced a new shared path, landscaping areas and new lighting features along the path. These works contributed to the aesthetic appeal of the bay area, and also provided more accessible and scenic routes for recreation for the Bayside community.
