Ford Civil is staffed by a group of straight-shooting and experienced construction professionals who have a track record of delivering landmark civil works for our clients in Government and Business. We are family owned and our continued success is testament to the productive working relationships that we foster with our family of clients.
Ford Civil offers a full range of civil construction services from site remediation to roadworks, demolition and commercial landscaping. From a Shovel to a Legacy – Tracing Five Decades of Growth and Dedication.

OUR STORY
In the late 1960’s the late owner William (Bill) Ford started a civil construction business with a partner. The company began with a shovel in the back of a Chrysler and slowly established the business.
By the 1970’s Bill and his wife Alma became the sole owners of the company and Ford Excavations was formed. The company began with an office at Peakhurst and a staff of 35. The major projects undertaken by Ford Excavations included the Bank of NSW in Martin Place, the Westfield Tower in William Street and Parramatta Shopping Complex. In 1985 the company changed names to Ford Civil Contracting Pty Ltd, which was in keeping with the large infrastructure works being tendered for. The monorail footings in and around Darling Harbour was the first major contract under the rebranded company name. Ford Civil then had a staff of 60 and relocated to the current office at Arncliffe. The company has continued to strengthen and grow over the last 35 years always maintaining the strong family values.
Today, Ford Civil employs over 100 people in various roles and is still based at the Arncliffe office, with the supporting yard at Prestons. Ford Civil has an annual turnover of over $100 Million and has expanded its operations to include streetscapes, remediation works and roadworks. Ford Civil has a large variety of modern machinery allowing us to undertake complex civil projects.

All employees are trained in the implementation of our certified ISO 45001:2018 are expected to demonstrate a willingness to embrace the concept of safe work practices and a safe working environment.

  • The Ford Civil fleet is stocked with over $10 million worth of Plant and Equipment and well supported by our yard in Prestons NSW. Our Plant and Equipment go through regular safety and maintenance checks to ensure top quality for our sites.
