DESCRIPTION OF WORKS
Ford Civil were engaged by CPB Contractors to deliver the ‘External Civil Works’ Package of the Campbelltown Hospital Re-development. The project delivered updated infrastructure for the growing Macarthur Region, with Ford Civil engaged to provide improved vehicle and pedestrian access along with creating a new access for Emergency Vehicles.
KEY FEATURES
With several work fronts set over the hospital site & surrounds, the project involved:
• Creating a new access off Appin Rd, as per TfNSW specifications to meet the increased traffic demands including earthworks, stormwater drainage, pavement
construction & relocation of large overhead gantry sign.
• Construct a new on-grade carpark for public patients & hospital staff which included
detailed staging to maintain access for Emergency Vehicles, buses, and public drop- off. Works included:
o In-situ waste classification
o Excavation of borrow pit for placement of ~1,500 m3 GSW
o Export of 8,000T of ENM
o In-situ sub-grade improvement works including lime/cement stabilisation
o Completion of flexible pavement & kerbing works
• Construction of a new public roadway with internal roads for Ambulance and Bus access
• Installation of new structural footings, including awnings & bridge footings
• Preparation and installation of landscape finishes including tree planting, ground cover, shrubs, and decorative gravel.
• Placement of exposed aggregate & coloured concrete footpaths at the main entrance to the new hospital
