PLANE SPOTTERS PROJECT MASCOT

Client: Sydney Airport Corporation Limited (SACL)

Project Value: $700,000

The plane spotters project (Shep’s Mound) involved the construction of two viewing platforms overlooking the airfield to cater for the aviation enthusiast community. The site was cleared and the removed material was reused and distributed on site as no material was to be taken off site. After the site was cleared the earthworks stage commenced which required the importation of fill material to build up the ground levels, the material was later shaped and graded to meet design requirements. The scope of works also involved the construction of concrete and precast footpaths, retaining walls, car park, landscaping and a shelter. Services were installed including Irrigation to cater for the new garden beds and turf area as well as new electrical supply to the shelter and five new light poles installed along the car park.
